More centres for those with disabilities needed

Speaking Wednesday at Kaburugi village in Kandara, Murang’a County, she also asked parents not to lock up such persons saying they should be given a chance to be productive.
In Kenya people with disabilities are estimated to be five million with 3.6 million having mental disability. First Lady Margaret Kenyatta has called for establishment of more centers to cater for children and people with disabilities.
Mrs Kenyatta said persons with disabilities and especially children needed special care to help them cope with life and become useful members of the society. She urged Kenyans to show love and compassion to people with various forms of disabilities.
