COVAW demands resignation, arrest of Kidero
The Coalition on Violence Against Women COVAW is demanding for the resignation and immediate arrest of Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero for alleged assault on Women Representative Rachel Shebesh. The lobby group says Kidero must step aside to allow a probe into the incident. The association claims that Kidero committed a criminal offense and cannot therefore be trusted with the governorship of the county unless he is exonerated of the claim by the court of law.
The women MPs say the incident involving former Deputy Chief Justice Nancy Baraza that saw her forced to leave office set a precedent on public conduct of public officials. He is currently in a meeting with Chinese investors to sign a partnership with Daimler Motor Company where he is expected to issue a statement on Friday’s incident....
