Willy Kitata wins Eskom Open
Entebbe golfer Willy Deus Kitata shot a five over par 149 over two days to claim the sixth edition of the Eskom Open at the 9 hole Jinja golf club over the weekend. Kitata started slowly on a unpredictable course opening his first round with a score of four over par 76, but roared back with a perfect score of one over par 73 to claim his first major event on the Uganda Golf Union amateur circuit. "I was not happy with my game I wanted to restrict my game and play it under than playing over on this course," Kitata said.

The Entebbe golfer won himself a one year sponsorship from Eskom who gave him a golf kit worth 10 million Uganda shillings with that he will have his kit branded and also receive funds to take part in all local and international tournaments. Last year's winner Toro's Adolf Muhumuza finished runners-up with a score of seven over par 151.
National lady golf player Eva Magala , warmed up ahead AACT golf tournament later this month by claiming the women's group A with 37 stableford points. She also won the nearest to the pin award.
