- Kibati heads back to the private sector
NAIROBI, Kenya Oct 15 – Mugo Kibati says he will return to the private sector as his five-year stint in public service comes to an end as Director General of the Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat (VDS). The outgoing VDS Director General has handed over to Wainaina Gituro, the current Director for the Social and Political Pillar at the secretariat. As the founding VDS Director General, Kibati successfully managed to lobby and secure the legislative approval for a binding Vision 2030 Sessional Paper.
The Sessional Paper No.10 of 2012 on Kenya Vision 2030, provides a legitimate anchor for Vision 2030 as the country’s economic and national development guiding policy framework and ensure it is sustained up to the year 2030. He expressed satisfaction the VDS had facilitated the completion of project designs and funding proposals for a number of flagship projects set for take-off within the current Second Medium Term Plan (MTP2) of the Vision 2030.
He was appointed to the VDS Director General position by former President Mwai Kibaki five years ago. He was charged with the responsibility of ensuring the timely implementation of Vision 2030.
