Kibicho to make trade key priority at Foreign ministry
Foreign Affairs principal secretary nominee Karanja Kibicho at a past function. The former Industrialisation PS June 20, 2013 appeared before Defence and Foreign Relations House team for vetting. Dr Kibicho, who appeared before the Defence and Foreign Relations Committee for vetting, said his focus would be to foster economic and security diplomacy.
Dr Kibicho told a House committee that the trade imbalance between imports, which stands at Sh1.2 trillion and exports of Sh400 billion had created a deficit of Sh700 billion thereby working to the disadvantage of the country. “My role will be to move fast to bridge this gap between imports and exports by opening up trade and bringing in new investments that will jumpstart the manufacturing sector,” he said....
