Energy sector regulator now launches hunt for new CEO
The State agency said it is looking for a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Law, Finance, Economics, Energy or a related field. The energy sector regulator has started the search for a new CEO as the term of the incumbent, Kaburu Mwirichia, comes to an end. Mr Mwirichia has served two three-year terms as the head of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), which regulates companies in electricity distribution, oil marketing, and power generation sectors.
ERC added that those holding a Masters degree in a related field will have an added advantage. Mr Mwirichia’s successor will, among other things, be tasked with the responsibility of balancing interests of consumers with those of power producers, distributors and oil marketers....
